Welcome

Hello, dear friends of Pelion,

Good bye Winter, and welcome Summer! At 14 april Taverna Paris opened its doors, the first flight from The Netherlands was cancelled because of the vulcano in Iceland, but slowly the first foreign visitors arrived in the village. From May it is possible for travellers with destination Airport Volos-Nea Anchialos to travel by public bus to Volos bus station! Departures from KTEL Volos to Airport: Monday 12.30, Thursday 15.30 and 17.30 (from 27 May 2010), Friday 13.00 (from 07 May 2010), Sunday 08.45 (from 30 May 2010), 10.15 and 18.30 (from 23 May 2010). The bus awaits the arriving travellers at the airport. The price for a bus ticket is unknown at this moment.

We also like to inform you about the ATM-machine in Kala Nera; unfortunately the machine does not give money on a regularly base. Please make sure you carry enough cash money upon your arrival. In Agria – 14 km from Kala Nera – is a reliable machine at the National Bank of Greece.

July was a pleasant month with an enjoyable temperature, but August is about to become tropical with a temperature of nearly 40 degrees and a high humidity (70%). We, Peliorites, are looking forward to some refreshing rain, but according to the latest weather report there is not even the slightest chance of that.

The Research Association of Pelion presents with pride the CD of her Chorus. The double CD consists of 34 traditional Greek wedding songs of almost all regions in Greece. Small parts of the CD can be listened at their website www.omiloserevnonpiliou.gr. The price is € 15 (excl. postal costs) and can be ordered through email.

Information about Kala Nera can also be found at www.kalanera.info. If you are looking for another wonderful Pelion area, you can also visit www.milina.info.

For now we wish you all an unforgetable summer holiday!

Many greetings from Kala Nera, Renate and Evert
